Ryan is the Chief Legal Officer, managing the company's legal compliance and corporate governance. A former state and federal prosecutor and corporate litigator, Ryan proactively solves challenges and mitigates risks to advance the business.

After graduating from Georgetown Law School (2011), Ryan clerked for the Honorable Timothy J. McCrone, Howard County Circuit Court in Maryland (2011-2012). He then served the public as a state prosecutor in the Major Investigations Unit for the State’s Attorney’s Office in Baltimore (2012-2015), and as Assistant United States Attorney for the Western District of Pennsylvania in Pittsburgh (2015-2016). Ryan entered private practice as an of-counsel attorney in the Washington, D.C. office of Dickinson Wright PLLC, where he was the lead counsel in the precedent setting appeal, Saudi Am. Pub. Rels. Affairs Comm. v. Inst. for Gulf Affairs, 242 A.3d 602 (D.C. 2020). Ryan specializes in business law, commercial litigation, and internal investigations.

RheumaGen’s mission is a personal one for Ryan, whose mom has suffered from rheumatoid arthritis for more than 20 years. Ryan enjoys exploring Colorado, skiing, and rooting on his favorite football teams with his wife and four daughters.
